Megan Harlan is the author of Mobile Home: A Memoir in Essays (UGA Press, 2020) winner of the AWP Award for Creative Nonfiction and the Independent Book Publisher Award Gold Medal for Creative Nonfiction, and Mapmaking, a poetry collection that won the John Ciardi Prize. Her writing has been cited as distinguished in Best American Essays 2018, 2019, and 2021, and has appeared in AGNI, The New York Times, Hotel Amerika, River Teeth, Arts & Letters (as winner of the Susan Atefat Prize for Creative Nonfiction), Crazyhorse, American Poetry Review, and Cincinnati Review, among other publications. She works as a writer, editor, and educator in the San Francisco Bay Area.
